Rear Tire Pressure Equalizer

On my (new to me) 2007 Meridian someone installed pressure equalizer connections. There are the breaded value extensions threaded into a device that is to keep both tires at the same pressure.

Does anyone have something like that? If so what happens if you have a rear tire blow out? Any advice pro/con on them also.

They are designed to close off if one tire suddenly loses air. I have seen discussions about the system and some folks like the system and others don’t like it at all. Truckers use this system a lot. Crossfire and CatsEye seem to be the main too brands if I remember correctly.
