Quick Tire Question

Need some reasons that will convince me that I should buy 700/800 dollar tires for my 40 foot pusher rather than 300/400 dollar commercial tires used on trucks. Primarily local trips although might try to sneak in one more cross country.

There is no reason. There are only two tires that are marketed as RV specific. The Goodyear G670 and the Michelin XRV. Both have has some issues over the years. Just stay with the same size and load range as OEM or larger if no fit issues. Look for an "all position" rib tire recommended for long haul or regional service.

I was looking into this myself , trying to find a traction tire to fit the coach.
Problems I found, were as Steve described, tires were 4" taller with a lower weight rating. Couldn't go that route.

I agree with all. I had RV tires and went to "Regional" tires. I find the ride the same, no more noise, and a stiffer sidewall in case a curb jumps out at you. The RV tire will not take the curbs well and failure will be premature, or so I'm told by ALL dealers.

Dealer put TOYO tires on our soon to be 2007 Meridian 36g before we could have him do Goodyear
anyone have any experience with this brand ?

My Ford chassis came with 19.5 Continental HSRs. They are doing very well so far, @9000. miles. They have a very heavy tread and are re-groove-able Probably would not have specified them, but I am pleased with them so far and would reconsider them in the future.

I believe the Hankook AH11 and AH12 are at least as good, they seem to ride better than the Goodyear tires I had before.

My 99 Itasca has Toyo M120Z (duallys) & M122 (front). I replaced the 2 front in 2013, size 255/70R22.5 . The M122 replace the M120Z tires and have all given good service. The M120Z duallys are due for replacement (04/2004 date codes)
