Manual Levelling Jacks on Trailer

Has anyone ever mounted manual jacks on the brackets that are factory mounted on the frame for the BAL auto levelling systems? I am considering some light fabrication work to mount 2x 7000lb square tube jacks on my 31BHDS for a "budget levelling System" that can double as a lift in winter to give the suspension a break etc. I can easily do this for under 300$ and am just wondering if its been done to a similar trailer and if there's any potential pitfalls to this plan?
