auto park brake

Can anyone tell me why the auto park brake system keeps running when the shifter is in drive or reverse? The unit is a 2001 Itasca suncruiser on a chevy workhorse chassis. When I pull the knob to apply the system the system stops running and the auto park light goes off but when i push to release the system keeps running and the auto park light is on? This just recently started happening.

It sounds to me like your auto park may be low on fluid or has a leak? When in drive or reverse, the pump turns on and pulls the cable to release the parking brake. If there is a leak or if the fluid level is low, then the pump keeps running trying to release the parking brake completely.

Does the Auto Park Brake have it's own brake fluid reservoir somewhere?

YUCK, thanks for the easy access dipwads !!!! at least ALL fluid reservoirs/containers should VISUALLY be easy to see levels - THANKS crappy builders/designers !!

The top one looks like a typical steering fluid reservoir. I checked it previously and it is full. Is the lower one for the auto brake?

auto park fluid reservoir

Mark did you confirm the lower hidden reservoir is for the auto brake? looks like it must be just below the pump but no markings i hesitate to fill it tho what else could it be?
