2004 Vectra 40KD Air leak about 30-40 seconds After Engine Shutdown.

Picked up my MH from storage today. Drove it home. About 30 to 40 seconds after I shut the engine down it began dumping air. It was as if I had activated the air dump form my leveling system as the coach settles. However the key was off and the leveling system was not on.

The sound of the air leaking is forward, in the vicinity of the front wheels.

This is repeatable. Start up. let pressure build until it burps. Shut it off and after a short time it dumps.

When the engine is running the system airs back up and maintains pressure.

Took a peek underneath and saw nothing obvious.

I am wide open to suggestions at this point.

Thank you all in advance for your time.

Update: the air purge is towards the rear of the coach. I was mistaken earlier. Apparently the sound was reflecting off of the pavement. It sounds like a valve is popping open as it's a sudden release. I was at the rear of the coach when it happened. Sorry for the incorrect info earlier.

I know this is an old post, but did you find why the air was dumping? Thanks.

Just an FYI, the original poster in this thread has not visited this site since Sept, 2020.

Coach Dumping Air after shutdown

Sorry for not updating this thread:

I discovered the problem was that my house batteries were only holding a surface charge. Shortly after shutdown they would discharge, the valve would open and the air would dump.

However, keeping the ignition key in the on position would prevent the dumping because the power was being handled by my starting batteries. The valve closes when the ignition is on so the air bags can fill for travel.

I subsequently installed new house batteries and have had no further issues. I hope this information is helpful to someone.

Bobby,
I would have not considered that. Thanks for the update!
