towing micro mini 2106ds with 1500 silverado, weight distributing hitch or not

I have a new 2020 silverado 1500 4x4 with the 3.0 liter diesel and a new 2106ds. Do I need a weight distributing hitch??

I've got an F350 with the 6.7L diesel and I'll be running a WDH on a 2100BH. You could maybe argue it's not needed but it doesn't hurt to put a couple hundred pounds back on the front axle for steering and braking in an emergency.

I have a 2020 new ford expedition towing 2106ds with 9200lbs towing capacity and WDH made a night and day difference. Power was not an issue but sway and bouncy ride was really bad without it. I originally tried and wasted money on a high end shank and ended up getting a $480 curt and it really performs well.

I have the exact same truck and trailer, I use an Equal-i-zer WDH and it tows fabulously never a hint of sway.

Are you close to being overloaded ?

If not- no you won’t need it. but...
you’ll find a million opinions why you will.

Pickup trucks are made to carry a lot more
on the tail than an SUV, 500 or 600lbs in the rear takes about 125lbs off the nose (if that).
