We have a Micro Minnie FLX so that'd be cheating.

it's 2 x 190 watt panels on the roof, MPPT. so far, so good! but we bought it that way.

I have a (1) 190w and (1) 200w (same panel, the 200w is new build date). Wit Victron 100/30.

Wired in parallel.

Considering going to serial.

Looking to add another 200w on roof. And another 400 to the side plug.

Renogy Eclipse 200watt suitcase with Victron 75/15 MPPT Smart Controller and 128AH of Lead Acid Battery Storage.

Suitcase works great when you have to CHASE THE SUN in State/Provincial Parks.

Lensunsolar 110w through sidewall to Victron 75/15 MPPT.
Victron 100/30 MPPT installed connected to rooftop gland. Shopping for a good deal on 2 x 200w panels. Was about to pull trigger on a couple of hard panels before finding out that BougeRv has a new EFPT flex panel that’s designed to tape to the roof. They say even a rubber roof. Talking with them and Waiting them out

Jim, that's something I would like to stay posted on.

Lyle,
This just in from the BougeRV rep. I guess I’ll get one to try it out. If it works, this technology solves the problem of mounting flexible panels on the roof and eliminates the need to put holes in your roof to install hard panels on a rubber roof.

Our CIGS solar panel solves the problem by adopting different battery cells. But our flexible solar panels have different settings than those commonly seen in monocrystalline silicon cells, its output efficiency would not be easily affected by temperature, its coefficient is -0.38, which means that the power output would decrease by 0.38% if the temperature rises by 1 degree Celsius(~33.8 degrees Fahrenheit).

So..To answer your questions, you don’t really need to have airflow beneath it, but if you’re afraid of losing efficiency, you can simply just put a cloth or heat insulation baffle underneath the panel to cut down the heat conduction.

They’ll not sensitive to lying flat on hard surface, as the pic I attached might be able to put your mind at ease.

We have added two 100w flexible panels to the roof of our MM 2100bh (300w total) with a victron 100/30 mppt and I recently picked up a ampere 190ah lithium battery that I will be installing this weekend. This should take care of us, with the added ecoflow river pro for when we need a little AC power or charging usb devices reliably.

I suppose I could add a 12v plug to transfer power from the house battery to the EF battery pack.

Curious if you have a compressor fridge, and whether 300w of flex panel is more than enough to replace the 50ah used by the fridge every day. What brand flex panels?

Lots of loss transferring from one battery to the other, but it should work ok. I charge my house batt and power station batt separately.

Jim, If these are the panels on their site it shows they are taped down with assume 2 sided tape.

This will be the area that would be most of most concern, If the panel wants to lift/flex. Will the tape hold the panel down and if the tape holds super great, is their a concern with the lift (if any), will it want to dislodge the rubber roof material from the plywood decking.

Everything on the roof is screwed to the plywood decking and there is no concern with the units pulling on the rubber roof.

I bought the Renogy flex panels and have taped them down along their edges with the eternabond tape.

Our fridge is the propane/shorepower fridge. Our use case is primarily for long weekend trips around Washington. So lots of shade, gray and not much direct sunlight, but for the two months of summer-time.

I dunno Lyle,
I suppose if they’re taped down securely like @brownct9, there can’t be any lift force on them. I think people have been taping flex panels to rubber roofs for years. The BougeRV flex panel caught my attention because it’s spec are way different from other panels, and as the factory quoted above, they will not suffer heat degradation.

Jim, I know you will test them thoroughly in all aspects so your feedback will be top notch.

I’m glad they chose me to field test and write a review. If I get the panel from BougeRV soon enough, I’ll test it first with my 300wh powerstation # of hours 0-100%. Then run same test on my Lensunsolar soft folding panel, so I’ll hopefully get head to head face off. Then test on house LiFePo from 60% to 100%. If the BougeRV does well, I’ll buy two more of them. I’ll post the review here, and on IRV2.

I am trying to find out if adding solar affects the great warranty on the roof.

I haven’t read it, but Very likely any hole you put in your roof will void the warranty. You can always call WBGO customer service to ask. Have your VIN# handy. And of course, even if there were a problem with the roof, rv manufacturers, including WBGO are well practiced on dodging their warranty responsibilities. I was denied warranty coverage after my fridge fell out of its cabinet enclosure. WBGO said that it wasn’t covered under structural warranty. OK, so what’s covered under structural warranty? The walls falling off?
