Stereo Upgrade in 1808FBS

My Jenson factory head unit failed in three stages and was underpowered when it worked.

So, now I've a JVC KD-X370BTS and a Neumi Atom 4k Digital Medial player with an old 512GB SSD hanging off it for an offline digital movie library. No more DVDs.

Ta-da:

I added a second set of indoor speakers near the TV by disconnecting/rerouting the outdoor speaker connections. The outdoor speakers are replaced with a separate system I'll outline in another post.

First I added a 12V to 15V step-up converter to get the full power out of the JVC head unit. I added a 15A fuse (This is the only picture I have of it, the ground is on the wrong bar and I replaced the wire caps with crimped connectors since taking this picture.)

I cut a wood bracket to mount the head unit to:

Stained it:

And here it is installed, with the media player attached to the bottom of the TV using 3M automotive double sided tape:

The ceiling is full of loose wires so be very careful cutting overhead. I found the outdoor speaker wires in the ceiling at the left speaker cutout:

It sounds glorious. I had already upgraded the two interior 6.5" speakers and have those faded down a bit as fill, with most of the sound coming from the new component speakers.
