I'm looking at a 2016 2106FBS with under floor slide track mechanism.

The other a 2018 2106FBS with side wall slide track mechanism.

Which is the better slide?

I'm looking at buying either a 2016, 2017 or 2018 Micro Minnie 2106FBS

Not a lot of differences, Jack Knife Sofa Design, Slide Mechanism, raised panel cabinetry vs flat panel cabinetry. Exterior Decal Pkg.

Im not aware of any other changes.

Of the changes listed was the change an improvement or a cost cutting measure.

Can't help you with the under floor mechanism, but the side wall track is called a Schwintek Slide. Plenty of info on those via Google. Seems like the Schwintek is reliable enough, just like anything else it helps to understand the best practices and maintenance items to keep it running smooth.
