Slide out power question

Regarding my 2108DS TT. I unhooked and put my battery away for the winter just the other day. In the meantime I was doing something in the trailer, using 110 supply via extension cord for lights, etc. I went to put the slide out, but no power. Does the slideout only work with 12V?

The slide works on 12V and your converter generates 12V when you are hooked up to shore power. When you removed the battery, did you turn the battery disconnect switch in the pass through storage to OFF? This switch needs to be ON in order to operate the slide without your battery hooked up. Make sure your battery cables are are secure and not touching ground or each other before turning on the battery switch.

If it's not the battery switch, there are a few more possibilities...

Correct! When choosing motors, they have to be either 12VDC or 110 AC for our RV and since we often want to use them when we don't have 110 AC, they are usually 12VDC.

Awesome. You aren't the first to find this, and no doubt won't be the last. The diagram in the link below can be helpful in understanding our electrical system.

Here is a drawing that you might find useful and why you needed the battery disconnect on to use the slide when the battery is gone.

Hahaha, Old Navy we were thinking about the same drawing. I drew this a couple of years ago with the help of Norman Schultz. A lot of people have found it useful because Winnebago doesn't provide you with anything like it.

I suspect many, many people have been helped both by the drawing and the pic of the connection box. I know I've posted that link to help people several times. A huge thanks to you and Norman for putting it together and posting it!

Since you mentioned it, here is the junction box that goes with that drawing.

Hey Biggie,
Is there anyway you could post a link to a jpg or pdf of your wiring diagram so I can print it. I’m doing my upgrade in a couple of weeks and couldn’t find anything as useful in the owners manual.

If this is something that you might like to do often, I use a "snip and sketch" as a way to cut out any portion of a screen and put it in my pictures. From there I can print, move to Adobe, etc.
Some info on it:

It is very simple to do. Hover over the drawing, right click, and save image as or copy image and then paste it in your photo file. You should then be able to print it.

Thanks guys. A bit harder to do with IOS. But I could enlarge image and do a screen shot, then print. I’m so backwards.

I made one for my 2021B Micro Minnie that reflects the movement of the manual-reset circuit breaker. This was a combination of info from the original wiring diagram (earlier in this thread) and looking at my trailer.

That is excellent information. I'll incorporate it into my original drawing and label it as a 2021b 2100BH. What does the "b" on 2021b mean? I was wondering when Winnebago was finally going to move that pesky little breaker out of the metal box. It sure would be helpful if you could post a photo of that new breaker position similar to what I did above.

My first TT had a cable-operated slide and I was told to never operate it without the battery connected as the converter could not deliver the required power all by itself and would result in a fried converter.

The current TT has a Schwintek-operated slide. Does this above guidance also hold for Schwintek-operated slides?

Thanks.

I have a Schwintek operated slide. I have never tried operating it without the battery. However, my WFCO converter is rated at 55 amps output.

The "a" or "b" is just the half-year model differentiator. 2021B are 2021 model year built after 8/1/20. This year saw a host of mid-year changes.

Photo of breaker location:
https://www.winnieowners.com/forums/...icture2006.jpg
It is labeled as SHORTSTOP 24V 30A. It looks like it has a very small button on the right end that will pop out if the breaker trips.
