Sanity Check: Before the pandimic how much was a new and used 2108?

I'm looking to buy a 2108, but first want to gauge how much the market has changed since the pandimic. Does anyone have any insight as to how much people were paying for a new 2108, or similar size/floorplan, and how much one was running that was a couple years old, before the pandemic started?

I have a pretty good perspective on this question because I searched RVtrader extensively for a 2018+ Thor Axis in late 2020 and bought an new one that was delivered in January of this year.

My new Axis cost $80,000. By Oct 2020 there was no 2018 that was listed for less than $80,000 and some were listed at absurd $100,000 numbers. That situation hasn't changed today although the crazy $100,000 listings have gone away.

So obviously the market was sizzling back then and still is today.

Had the market been "normal" I might have been able to buy the 2021 for a few bucks less and I am sure that I could have bought a 2018 for a lot less. I would guess $65,000 would be reasonable for a three year old coach when a new 2021 sells for the mid to upper $70s. In other words 20% depreciation, real sold prices to real sold prices, makes sense.

What is going to happen to the market? Sooner or later it will revert to "normal" or even crash below normal. Who knows when. When that happens new prices won't change much, they never do. But used prices will fall, at least 15% if the market reverts to normal and more if it crashes.

would add that due to the emergence of the delta variant, many airlines are now cutting guidance as air travel is softening (particularly the outlook for business travel). one would think this would do nothing to soften the market for rv's short term.

I have found a 2019 Mico Minnie 2108 for $22,000. I'm wondering how overpriced it may be when considerng the market two years ago.

We bought our 2108ds new in October 2020. It’s a “b” model, later build with convection microwave and compressor fridge. We had searched for late model used ones for three months, not finding anything under $20k. We gave up and searched another month, calling 14 dealers, until we found a dealer willing to sell at our offer price of $23k (about 30% discount). We rushed to buy it. The next month, WBGO raised msrp. And there has been another increase since then. I believe msrp is now $6,000 higher than when we bought. I also know you can no longer get a 30% off deal. We’ve been on the road a lot, and have received 2 unsolicited offers to buy our camper.

Bottom line is, there’s a shortage of 2108 micro minis. Not likely you can by new for less than $30k. So, $22k for a 2019 sounds about $2k too high, you may not be able to find another late model 2108 for less tha $20k.

We bought our new 2018 Intent in July of 2019. It was already a model year old, so we got a good deal on it. Listed for $138,000 and got of for $70,000 out the door.
A few of the Intent owners on this forum with same same year/model have sold theirs. They’re fetching $80,000-$90,000 now.
I agree, once normal travel resumes, there will probably be a glut of used RVs for sale, putting downward pressure on prices. Like anything, once a fad wanes, there’s a sell off.

I bought my 2018 2108DS in September of 2017. I ordered it and an Equalizer hitch for about $30,000 total (including taxes).

Hi there ,
I purchased a 2020 2108TB in June of 2021 for $28,000 Canadian, which I thought was a fair price, not a bargain, but fair.
Good Luck

Is the price of gold up now? Yes. It will cost more now. Are other items more expensive? Yes. Simple supply and demand. Simple economic principles at play. Belly up to the bar and spend the money or throw your cards down and walk away.

I agree with Marine359. I bought my 2019 MM 2108DS used in November 2020 and paid $19k. It has a gas oven and absorption fridge. The 'Cherry' exterior is a little faded but other than that, was pretty much like new.

Purchased my 2100BH in early June. If I did this a year ago it would have been a lot less, but I didn’t. We still love it and so does our grandson. They cost what they cost right now.

$30,995, but I did get them to throw in the WDH and Voyageur rear view cam, so there’s that.

Buy what fits your needs and your budget and enjoy it. The value of the experiences you make with it are priceless.
