Minnie Drop Battery Replacement

I’m thinking about upgrading/replacing my original Interstate battery in my 2018 Drop 190RD. It does not seem to hold a charge like it used to. I primarily boondock in National Parks. Any suggestions for a good battery that I can recharge with solar panels?

I looked at a lot of more expensive battery”s for my Mini Drop but ended up just getting a group 24 AGM battery from Costco. I don’t have solar but do find that running my Generator about 45 minutes a day seems to keep everything running. Of course we are careful not to be running stuff we don’t need.

Since your existing battery is probably turning south, see if you can put two in its place. In order of size there are G24s at 70 Ahs each, G27s at 80, G31s at 100 and two 6V golf cart batteries at 220 Ahs each which gives 220 with two wired in series, the best bang for your buck.

I would go with AGMs for anything other than GC batteries. Walmart, Costco, Sams and Amazon have good prices. I would go with an Amazon supplied Renogy 100 Ah AGM as my first choice.
