I'm thinking about installing one on my 2108DS, but I live in a windy area. I'm already limited on using the awning as it is. I'm concerned the wind would end up damaging things and the slope isn't sufficient enough to drain properly. I think for now I'm just going to get a soft bristle brush and a small step ladder and brush off the top if I camp under trees.

How did you get drawings from Winnebago?

Steve,
Any update on how the topper is working out? Any issue with the slope for draining? Also any issues with wind?

I just bought a 2020 2108FBS and thinking about putting a topper on it. I'd appreciate your feedback.
Thanks.

Hello Rusty, I called Winnebago and they emailed me the drawings. The toppers works great so far. I have been camping with high winds and no problem at all. I would call them to make sure they haven't change the structure any. Happy camping, Steve

Hi I just bought a 2021 MM also. Model 2108DS and would like to put a topper on the slide. I am trying to figure out what length and brand to buy. I also have the same questions about mounting it. Where is it safe to drill the screw holes etc. Bruce in Florida

I considered installing a topper on mine, but saw a downside. I stay in Florida for months at a time and noticed critters making homes in the space between the topper and the slide out in one of my neighbors camper. That wouldn’t effect most campers but long term folks maybe. At least take a peek in there before you close the slide. I did have a bad leak one day during a storm but resolved it by partially closing and reopening the slide. It was open two months straight and debris collected there. So I’m on the fence about it. Either way I need to get up there and look or sweep off the slide before I close it.

Pj thanks for your reply. That is a good thought about the possibility of critters getting in their. I never thought about that.
I still want to put a topper on my slide though.
I am still interested in hearing more thoughts about putting a topper on my new micro Minnie 2108DS slide. What brand, size to buy for my unit and where is safe to drill the holes to mount it on my 2108DS

Yea I still think I’m gonna do it anyways. I just will take a peek in there with a flashlight before I close it. The leak I had from the debris was in buckets, so I’d like to avoid that happening again.

It works perfectly. I never have to worry about sticks getting jambed into the top seal of the slide out. As it gets older it will be one less seal to worry about during rain storms too.
Good decision.
Does it make a lot of noise when it’s windy?
