Before I cover it for winter I took the 3M Perfect-it Heavy Compound to it with my 7" buffer and foam pad. Swirl marks from the 4" buffer are gone.

I finished off with the McGuires One Step just to give it a coat of wax for winter.

In the Spring I will give the Poli Glow Kit a test and see if I can get this Oxidization/shine down to a semi annual rather than quarterly exercise.

Todd, I can't believe Gel Coat is still in use today, Winnebago made the right choice when they discontinued the Colored Minnie and for good reason.

I have seen pictures of some well kept Minnies and I have seen pictures of some that were not kept so nice. Had this unit been looked after from day one, would it look like it does now?

You would not believe the hours of buffing and the amount of product used to get it to this point. There may still be a little ghosting of oxidization, it's so hard to tell. Shadowing and dull fiberglass can play tricks on the eye. As gelcoat is thin I worry the oxidization is right through it and it will never be 100% haze free of oxidization.

I'm hoping when and if I get this thing to my liking, I can maintain that with a lot less work.

I could be a little anal in my expectations here lol.

Oxidation on Red Minnie

We just had our Minnie professionally washed, buffed and waxed. The gentleman that did it said to keep it waxed or it will turn pink and you cannot restore it. Our is a 2019 and still looks good.

Meguire's has come out with a new product that is good for at least a year. It is a coating and not a wax. Has anyone tried it?

The product will work on Gelcoat and is called

Meguire's G210300 Hybrid Paint Coating Kit
