Micro Minnie 2021 1700BH -questions?

We just put down a $500 hold for a $22,000 travel trailer to be pulled by a Subaru Ascent with a 5000# tow capacity, 500 hitch dry weight. The trailer is 3280 # as is, and dry hitch weight 380. We have some questions I would appreciate your help with. Model 1700BH, 21'. All season package, elevated with off-road tires.
Do you think this is a decent price? We are being told by dealerships that they are flying off the lots, and now Winnebago is not shipping anymore for a while.
For those of you that are towing with a car with a 5000# limit and uni-body, how does it tow for you?
We noticed that underneath the trailer it felt almost like a paper or soft particle board under the flooring. Do mice chew through that? What is between that and the floor?
We have ordered an electronic sway control system and a Curt Echo electric brake system.
Any other thoughts?
TYIA!!!

1800BH

Hello,

That's a great price! We are buying an 1800 BH for a few K more and we're thinking we got a good deal! We are wondering about protection from mice also. We've had problems already this fall in both garaged and carport kept cars. We have some tricks like led lighting underneath and ultrasonic devices and shaved Irish Spring inside.

Will pick the trailer up on Thursday. Can't wait.

I tried Irish Spring in my Scamp and the mice ate the soap.

I’m pulling a Mini Drop that weights 3250 Lbs with the very limited stuff we need to go camping. The dry weight is advertised at 2800 lbs, HITCH wt. is advertised as 315 lbs. and ours is 405lbs with all tanks empty. I think it would be pretty hard to carry less extra stuff than we do so use those numbers as a minimum for what your trailer will actually weigh. We pull with a Audi Q5 which has HP and torque numbers very similar to your Subaru. I am at the limit on the Hitch weight but it all works better than I would have thought even on mountain grades of as much as 7%. Do I wish I had a stronger tow vehicle? Sure, but what I have works and I still get to enjoy driving a smaller car around town instead of a big truck. I also have the Echo brake controller and love it. I have had other trailers in the past with different brake controllers and I much prefer the echo.
