Micro Minnie 1708FB - 13.5 BTU vs 15.0 BTU A/C?

We are seriously contemplating on purchasing the new Micro Minnie 1708FB and have a question on which size A/C to select. We live in Mid-South FL and will most likely be camping mostly in the Southeast region of USA. Would appreciate any recommendations on which A/C to consider. Thanks!

Given your location, I'd pick the larger one, but I would be interested in the comments of others about any difference in being able to run the different units with a generator.

My experience is the bigger ac will shut off and on more frequently which is super annoying. I regret getting the bigger ac in ours.

If the thermostat has adjustable "swing" you could correct that, but not even all home thermostats have that adjustment, so it wouldn't surprise me that RV thermostats don't (assuming we're even talking about a wall mounted thermostat).

We have the 2500FL which is somewhat larger than the unit you are considering. It has the 15K BTU unit. Our last trailer, a Keystone Bullet 19FBPR also had the 15K BTU unit and is closer in size to what you are considering. Both provide(d) excellent cooling capability, albeit sometimes struggling a bit in extreme heat.

A unit that is too large could short-cycle; while it would cool you down it wouldn't dehumidify the air in the trailer as well and is less efficient. I'm not sure if this could or would be a problem; super-insulation is not what these trailers are known for.

Best wishes in your selection and future camping.

I would get the bigger one. If you get smaller and want an upgrade later.. it is VASTLY more expensive.

Definately go for the bigger one. We have the15K BTU and it works so much better that the 13. 5s.you won't regret it. Larry, 2014 Reyo P
