Jack knife sofa in 2021 2108TB

We have a new trailer and are concerned with the sofa's operation. The angle of the back rest seems too much. The sofa slides out a bit on its own during transport. There is some gap between the back rest and the fixed back suggesting it can retract farther which would make the back rest angle closer to 90 degrees. I am attaching pics of the back rest angle view, the gap in the back and the front which sticks out a bit. It seems the pics are not upright but hopefully you can turn them and see what I am talking about.

Anyone have this experience? Suggestions? We cannot believe the sofa is performing as it should or else it is a horrible design.

Thanks

Steve & Glenna

My Jackknife upright position seems to be about 10 degrees, typical comfy seat recline. Yours looks much more than that.

Have you tried opening your jackknife and closing it again to reset it?

Thanks for your note. Yes, have tried to open and close a dozen times but just does not go back far enough to get the correct angle. Tried to contact Winnebago but that is a black hole. Just reached out to Lippert, the manufacturer. Do you have the space behind the back seat as in our picture?

I do have about 5 1/2" behind the sofa when it is fully up in seating position. We removed and stored the heavy table that was supplied for the sofa in favor of a couple of TV Tray tables.

I think Lippert makes the axels and undercarriage, but not sure they make the jackknife sofa.

If you are unhappy with the Jackknife, you might look into RV replacement recliners if you don't want to use as a bed. There are lots of retrofits available - just measure twice, purchase once. YouTube has quite a few instructional videos on how to remove and install seating.
