Installed a USB Powered Fireplace in our 2106DS

Installed a small USB powered fireplace in the cabinet below the TV for some ambiance. The fireplace fits perfectly between the front cabinet trim pieces and is controlled by a USB timer. The fireplace is secured it in place by a screw from behind and silicone sealant around the front edges which allows for future removal if needed.

Also installed a power station on the shelf below the TV using a three hole power pod fused at 10 amps. The pod will power the inverter for the TV, the USB fireplace/timer plus additional 12V or USB powered devices if needed. To power the pod I tapped into the wires that are used to power the slide. Those wires run through the bottom of the same cabinet and are 10 AWG fused for 20 amps. By using this circuit, we can control the power to the pod by using the power switch for the slide.

Below are some pictures taken during and after the install.

Nice Job. Perfect spot for a Fire Place. Great Idea!

Because my dinette blocks a good portion of the cabinet below the tv , I had to resort to this..... Not quite the same, but easy. The DS was my choice prior to the TB coming out.

Thanks! That's funny, your solution was one of my possible fallback options, except I would of have used my wife's old 12" tablet and mounted it in the space.
