Help with Reno please.

This is my first post, so hope it comes out okay. I own a Winnebago Ultralight 2015 27RBDS. I want to make more moving-around room in the bedroom. By removing the portion of the bed that lifts up and the box that it sits on. And end up using the front end of the bed as my bed, a single bed, sleeping crossing side to side rather lengthwise like it is now. I can just fit being 5 ft 6. I think I've thought it out well. And it looks pretty simple, just remove a ton of screws and take the box apart. My concern now is this: the hydraulic lifts, are they under some sort of tension that will make them difficult to remove? Any tips you may have on removing them? Any other tips for me? I'll be tackling this on my own and not all that strong. Hope I've been fairly clear, and thanks!

As long as they are at full extension they can be easily removed.
