We have a 2018 Minnie 2500RL. We had an issue (after warranty ran out of course!) of the black "skirting" pulling away from the exterior wall in the area to the right of the door over to the area under the window in the bedroom and a little bit beyond.

Summer of 2021 we refastened the j-channel to the exterior wall with brads, then recaulked between j-channel and exterior wall with GE 100% Exterior Silicone. Felt like we had taken care of the problem. Ha ha.

March 2022 upon returning from a trip (fyi had some torrential rain & wind!) we noticed water marks on the wall of the bedroom on the same side of repair at the bottom of the wall near the floor. Never had seen that before and think we definitely would have noticed it!

Any suggestions or tips as to what we should do to repair? We are "assuming" the leak is coming from the repair job we did. Don't know how to proceed with this fix. The dealer we purchased from has changed hands and is not someone we have dealt with and frankly would rather not.

I'm going to attempt to attach pictures to show what is/was going on! Rain is coming again this week so we are in a rush to get this taken care of!

Thanks for taking time to read!

Four years ago we had a similar leak on our 2250DS. The fix was to seal the hole where the wires go through the awning support with RTV (silicone rubber).

Thank you BigBird65! We looked at our awning support and it seems to be ok but don't think additional caulk could hurt!

Stopped in dealership today to pick up caulk & showed the gentleman our pictures. He wanted to know if leak happened to be under a window. Yes! Directly under. He said every few years the caulk needs to be redone on the windows! Looking at the window, it does appear it needs to be re-caulked! So, that is something to be aware of. Check your windows. Unfortunately rain is coming today, so we don't have time to take the old out & put the new in and have it "rain ready". Gonna say a prayer & cross our fingers it won't be a strong blowing rain!

Again, thank you for your reply. We will be adding caulk to the awning wire hole and now also the windows!

Happy Camping! Stay DRY!

A few more details about my leak problem. Our 2250DS was brand new when the leak happened. We took it back to the dealer, RV Land in Kyle Texas, and his two best men started working on it. Playing water over the roof, then the window, then the hole I was talking about. They felt like the leak was around the window and resealed it. Nope not the window. That was in 2018. Since they fixed it, it never leaked again. You might try black Vinal electrical tape around the window as a test. Best of luck.

Did you ever find a way to cover up the stain on the wall?

Thanks

Last summer I had a window leak on31g. Or I thought I had... I could find no problem with the window and a friend digested the clearance lights above the window. The light was the problem.
