Dometic 9100 Awnging self replacment issue.

We decided to try and tackle replacing our main awning on the trailer. We ordered a Solera model for our Dometic 9100 power awning. Several YouTube videos and a bunch of yelling later everything was put back together and when I went to remove the allen key I had holding the tension spring I found the key was broken. So now when we went to test the awning the spring is not assisting to roll back up and it's stuck in the beginning at the extended state..

So, I'm assuming we need to re-torsion the spring but I'm not finding good instructions for a 9100 setup. I'm thinking remove the spring side of the awning from the arm and maybe can just wide up the assembley to the required turns and then put back in the arm under load?

Has anyone ever re-torsioned a Dometic spring?

Here's a video on replacing the motor and fabric on a 9100 awning. At the 30 minute mark they are retensioning the awning spring. In this case the awning used 7 turns on the spring. Towards the beginning of the video I counted 7 turns to roll the awning fabric up fully against the camper from full extension. Based on this, I would probably start by putting the same number turns on the spring it takes to roll the awning fabric tight against the camper when fully extended.
