DIY Murphy bed for 2106 sofa slide

We need to take turns sleeping with our 7 year old handicap son every night so I ditched the jackknife sofa and made a folding bed frame that holds a 12" memory full size foam mattress 68"x54". Super sturdy and sleeps like a real bed at home. It can towed folded up or mattress down and there is still allot of space with the bed down and slide out for when you are setup at campsite. I also put a piano hinge on the faux leather sofa toe kick so now you can easily get access to the slide mechanism or wheel well area in case something ever gets back there or troubleshoot the slide. All the frame hardware was only $75. Its not pretty but boy does it do the job.

Nice that it will go down with the slide in!

Any idea what your weight difference is?

minus the sofa then adding everything maybe 60-75lbs. Now we can really sleep 4 people comfortably if needed with full walkway to the bathroom during the night.

As the saying goes, "need is the mother of invention". Great job.
