There have been several trys to get a mini drop group started on here but they have failed so far. I have a 170S. Dark Blue, and to start the conversation let me say that Winnebagos decision to us dark colors was terrible as it is impossible to keep from oxidizing.

I have owned my 170S for 4 years now, purchased new. It is red. Yes, I’ve been fighting the oxidation from the start. Today I ordered a kit from Poli Glow, that is supposed to bring back the color, and only needing annual maintenance. Looking forward to using it. Other than that, I love the camper. I am a retired single guy, with a dog. I strictly boondock here in Arizona. I have a Wen 3800 generator that works great. Any questions, I’ll try to answer. Neil

Please report back on your Poly Glow experience. I have tried many things but nothing seems to hold up over a 2 or 3 months. I saw a red Mini Drop last summer camped at the Grand Canyon, wasn’t by chance you was it. y

The poli glow shipped today. I’ll take before and after pictures, and post.
That wasn’t me up at the GC. I do spend a lot of time in the Kaibab around Williams.

I also don't know why WBGO uses color on these rigs... totally insane!

I've restored many an auto paint. Best you can do is:

1. Perform a paint correction (remove oxidation with an orbital buffer and rubbing/polishing compounds)

2. Apply multiple layers of a high-quality wax

3. Keep it maintained with Aerospace 303.

4. When not in use, keep it covered

Good luck!

@JSBCustoms posted a new member photo of a new-to-them 2018 red Micro-Minnie in the Welcome Mat forum. Here was the update on removing the oxidation: https://www.winnieowners.com/forums/...ml#post3916270

Dang that was nice work! But I'm happy I don't have to deal with the dark color. But looks like it can be managed.

I just finished the oxidation removal process and it looks great right now. Trouble is I know haw bad it will be in a few weeks. Haven’t tried 303 but will give it a try. Others in my storage yard say there covers lasted only a year in this Arizona sun.

The Poli glow kit came in today. I am reading the instructions now, and watching videos. I’m going to do the right rear section from the door back, in the morning. I’ll post before, and after pictures.

Well, started on it this morning. Had to stop, due to 30 - 40 mph winds. I’m happy so far. Lots of work, but I think I’ll be proud when done

I would love it if you could post Pictures of right after the poly-glow and again in about 3 months.
I just buffet our blue one out
and applied Star Bright Premium wax. It will only last about 3 months before the oxidation is bad again. Only good thing is that once the oxidation is removed the Star Bright is real easy to apply and remove.
