Any elegant solutions to rough bed corners?

On my Ultralite, the master bed mattress lays on some plywood. This wood is hinged with the ability to raise to get to storage under the bed. Problem is the wife and I are constantly scrapping ourselves on this rough plywood corners when moving around the tight spaced room.

Has anyone got a nice solution that might work to solve this? I was thinking something like the plastic stapled on the ends of a mattress bottom? Or some kine of edging?

You could use a sander to round the corners and then a router to "round over" the top and bottom edges. A little finish sanding after that and you could have it smooth and round rather than angular.

Since it's a super shin banger, I round the edge and then add a buffer of something softer to bang into. A strip of the soft foam pipe insulation and attached well with adhesive is one we found worked for a long time.

Yep.. Inexcusable how the factory would just slap a crude unfinished piece of plywood in any area accessible in normal use. I was disgusted with the poor craftsmanship of the plywood "lid" under each dinette seat (2108 DS)

I sanded all surfaces including rounding the edges, then applied several coats of nice gloss white paint.

To improve usability I added a stainless piano hinge across the back and then added a folding support on the inside to hold the lid up
