Andersen WD Hitch dent

Hello All!

We just bought a 21 Hike 172BH and decided on a Andersen WD hitch from the recommendations we found on this forum and the web. I'd like to ask if a small dent in the ball receiver from shipping could possibly affect the performance of the hitch. I've included a picture for reference. I haven't read of any Andersen WD hitches failing, or any hitches failing from small dents in them. I really want to be safe with this because we're so new to it.

Thank you very much!
Matt

Welcome.

I can't say with 100% certainty that anything is perfectly safe. I can only say that when I owned Travel Trailers my hitch both never looked so perfect nor did I worry about the wear and tear it took in normal operation - which as a lot worse than this.

"I" wouldn't worry about it. But that's me. It's up to you.

You could call them, but I'm sure they'll say it'll be fine. Plus, the ding will be hidden when you bolt it together.

Hopefully the install will go well for you. I can't say I had any issues at all, and the hitch works great! I'm onto my second year with mine, and when I checked it for our first outing this year it didn't need any adjustment at all.

I had that very same hitch, the picture is fine. That thing is solid. Just remember to torque the bolts that fits the receiver. My memory is telling 125ft lbs, but check the instructions. You will like that set up.
