2529RG blinking tail lights

I took my 2022 2529RG to the dealer for some minor warranty work. When I got home I left it completely hooked up plus the shoreline connected as we are leaving on a trip in a few days. I noticed that my tail lights were blinking at about a 9 second interval. No other lights on the camper or truck were blinking. I disconnected the line from the camper to the truck and they stopped. What is this all about???

You may have an intermittent ground. Take the lens off and clip lead the ground (metal) on the light to frame ground. See if this stops the blinking.

I will check but this seems a bit unlikely as this happens while the rig is sitting static - nothing to make the ground intermittent.

If you connect the camper back to the truck, do they start blinking again? If you disconnect shoreline power do they still blink? Another test is to unhitch the camper from the truck so there is no metal to metal contact. Then connect the wire harness between the camper and the truck and check all the lights on the camper (brake, turn, marker, flashers). The wire harness should be providing the electrical ground path between the truck and the camper not the metal in the hitch.

We have currently left it all connected, except for unplugging the harness from the truck, as we are leaving on a trip in the morning. These are all good steps in analyzing the issue. I wlll do them in the next day as we travel, set up and tear down, and let you know. Thanks - good ideas

I reconnected the truck cable while on the shoreline - blinking returns. With the truck unhitched and everything still connected - no blink. Odd that it just might be the hitch.

With the truck unhitched did brake, turn, marker, and flasher lights on the RV work? If you unhook from shore power; do the brake, turn, marker, and flasher lights on the RV work both with and without the hitch connected?

Here is another question. When you took your camper in for minor warranty work, did they have to touch any of the wiring to fix those issues?

It really seems like you have a wiring problem of some sort. A corroded ground wire, a loose ground wire, a screw that goes into a wire harness and shorts something out....that sort of thing. Tough to figure out unless you are good at troubleshooting and know about electrical work.

naturally they were concentrated only on the "required" warranty work. Non the less, we will be returning as the A/C is not running properly - on for a minute or two then off then back on for a short period. I have been suggested that this may simply be a thermostat issue. But, both will certainly be addressed

Here is an easy way to turn on the running and tail light without hooking the trailer to the tow vehicle. Plug a 15 amp fuse in and see if the lights are still blinking.

Yes, I know of the fuse in-line to check the lights. My issue is not if the lights work but why they blink when connected to the truck and shoreline

Another thing you can try while connected to the truck and to shore power with the lights blinking. You can turn off the circuit breakers in your camper one at a time to see if you can narrow it down to one specific circuit.

Is your tow vehicle a reasonably new model like 2020 or later so that the truck electronics may not be compatible without some changes/additions?
I've not dealt with towing a trailerin a very lo9ng time but there are some things about this whichsound very much like the problems with switching out bulbs to LED and finding the electroncis are not seeing what they like until resistance is addedback to the circuit.

Just random theory here but if one had a setup using a capacitor and zenor diode in the newe truck, it would sound like the zenor is fires when the circuit reaches some specific voltage.

The lights are not connected to any breakers in the Minnie.
