Glad I could help. Completely off topic. I have a holster for my .45 called a Sneaky Pete because it doesn't look like a holster at all. Really like it.

That’s sneaky alright! I get the name from my horse - his name was Sneak Preview, but we called him Sneaky. He’s gone now but his name lives on.

Different Problem

We have a Vista 31T with the Atwood water heater. Gas works fine, electric work

intermittently. Would our problem have something to do with the board?

Thanks, Don

Impossible to tell. Seems like a logical place to start. That's the trouble with these kind of things. You are going by trial and error if it's not some visible problem.

Don, you say that it works intermittently on electricity. That is the way it is supposed to work. It doesn't heat the water continuously. If you mean that sometimes the heating element doesn't come on when it should, that is a different story. Make sure both switches are off to the water heater and re-seat all of the electrical connectors on the board. That may help. The problem could be with the board.

Since sneaky is talked? One of the really sneaky tricks to fixing temporary problems is really simple at times. Before changing out the board like an RV tech might, try something cheap and sneaky! Pull any covers and pull off any push on connectors to wiggle them around a bit to clear any corrosion building up on the contacts.
It's not hard to find repairmen who try a new board and say it fixed things when the real problem was corrosion on the contacts! Shiny new contacts on a new board will often fix the problem but it is much cheaper if you clean those contacts on the old board.

Thanks for the info, will check the connectors.
If we leave the electric on overnight sometimes we have really hot water
in the morning and sometimes luke warm water.

Possible, yes. Practical? Debatable due to several points. One is that the unit itself tends to be pricey as RV items are specialty stuff and we pay more. Two other points are that there will need to be wiring both to power the heater and for the controls. Finding a unit to fit the physical space might also be a question.

Maybe not relevant to the issues above, but one thing to check when having water heaters issues is that the bypass valves are set properly. I learned that in a rental once. They had not been reset after de-winterizing.

Also, I've unplugged the electrical on my unit just so I don't accidentally burn it out if not filled with water. If you can't unplug, find the circuit breaker.

Dinosaur UIB 64 ordered and on the way. My 2108DS's HW heater wouldn't ignite on propane. Worked fine on electric (while at a park). Normally I boondock so all electric isn't always an option. I got online, saw videos, wiggled wires, got out the multimeter, removed the thermal fuse (temporarily for testing), replaced 2 amp (blown) fuse, tried everything - no hot water on gas. It would try 3 times, then the "fault" light came on in the panel. Finally called a mobile tech, and in about 5 minutes he told me it was the Board. Common problem. Someone else mentioned on here that Winnebago buys these Water Heaters in bulk. My 2019 2108DS was built in 2018, but the Atwood (now Dometic) water heater in it was manufactured June of 2006! Not 'used' but sat around for years. My Water heater model is GC6AA-10E and my circuit board is Zhongding 91346. We shall see if I can install the Dinosur UIB 64.

Anyone else despise that little twist-n-pull tab that secures the WH door? There has GOT to be a better way...

All I can do is shake my head. Let us know how it goes. And I agree with the WH door. I suppose they've been making those since the last millennium and will never change. It really looks like a mechanism intended (or reused) for a padlock, though I can't imagine the need for that.

The Dinosaur UIB 64 was plug-n-play for my Water Heater model GC6AA-10E (circuit board = Zhongding 91346). I had pulled the white tape off of the circle for the Ignitor wire and then realized that they have the Ignitor Wire coming in from the left side. Not sure why, but it works. Just replaced the white sticker with good ol' duct tape. Did not have to rearrange any wires and it came with the plastic cover. Super easy!

Amazonica I installed a UIB 64 board about 2 years ago. Many thousands of miles later it is still working great.

Good to know Bigbird65. Fingers crossed I get the same long term result.

During my last 2 week outing, my water heater quit on the electric side. No problem as the propane worked just fine. Ordered a new Dinosaur ignitor and installed it when I got home. Worked like a charm. Bonus is the LED display and cover. Another satisfied customer!

Nice Rock
Wondering now if I should get one pre-emptively.
