2108--What are you doing with this space?

Would love ideas on how to utilize the space above the dinette. Just bought our 2108 and are trying to figure out how to add in more storage.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to add weight to a slider.

I've been wondering the same for ours. Weight is certainly an issue, but there isn't much wall space to load it with much weight. I've thought about nets of some kind, but that would be a bit messy looking. Still, storage is storage, especially in that this space is particularly easy to see and access. I figure I'll wait a while to see what stuff never seems to have a home. Please post if you come up with something!

I'm also considering hinges for the benches to make them a bit more convenient for access from the top. They could hinge toward the table or toward the back I think.

I’ve installed piano hinges on both dinette benches. Wish I’d down it on the previous unit as they work so well for such a simple mod. I installed the hinges on the back of the seat so they tip up away from the table.
Now need to install a small retaining strap to keep them in the upright position when open.

Perhaps you should try a rare-earth magnet? I used one to hold my door open and it makes a nice satisfying snap when it grabs. And yet it's easy to pull it away.

I've been thinking about. a cargo type net on the wall as well to hold papers, books, maps, and magazines. But I agree not the best looking option.

We hang family and/or vacation photos there. It helps tp personalize the RV as yours and brings a little of home with you on the road.

What are you doing with this space?

I’m a big fan of command hooks and hang pretty matching tote bags up in that space on both sides. I also have used command hooks with a wire end to hang up a black metal file holder for magazines. All of it doesn’t look bad but it’s definitely not bare bones. Carrying all my stuff and keeping it organized Is the priority for me rather than decorating.

Our 2016 Minnie Winnie 27Q was built with overhead cabinets above the dinette, but the vertical space in yours appears to be lower then ours.
