And they take up a lot of space in an area that has little space. That's part of the reason I went with the 2106DS, although the Murphy bed was more of a reason, for similar reasons (bed takes up a lot of space).

Where is the storage space in a 2106DS? I'm curious if there is some kind of storage under the sofa and I haven't been able to see it from the photos. I know the table stores behind the sofa.
A sofa on the 2108DS platform would certainly have more stretch out space, but it seems like it might be a little awkward being up there on a platform like some royalty . Winnebago seems to sell everything as spare parts so I bet you can buy the sofa, though I'd wonder if it would be a good value. It would match the decor, though, for what it's worth. However, the factory sofa may depend on hanging off the end of the platform as part of its height.
That 2021 2106TB looks interesting. I spotted a bunch of unrelated style changes in the cabinets. Maybe they are doing that in other 2021 units as well.

I don't think I'm entirely following what you are saying here, but I'd be happy to dig into my 2108DS and have a look if you think that's useful. It's parked here right on the property so very easy to do. In fact we have it setup as an extra escape spot during these covid times so I even have the hookups going.

Dinnettes and 74" beds are two of my pet peaves. Some people sleep with their arms over head.

Yes the table stores behind the side sofa, but we don't take that with us. We don't eat at a table at home, why should be do so on the road?
The storage is under the front bed, but only accessible from the outside front doors. So there's no pass through, which I prefer. There are also two closets on either side of the front bed--I don't think that was the case originally, but it has been for a few years now.

In particular, what's the point of a 74" bed when a standard full size is 75"? Mine is looking for a mod here. I'll post when I finally do it. I'd prefer longer, but a queen is never going to fit anyway .
So far I do kind of like our dinette as a place to sit and read as I'm not so much of a couch guy. But I have a hunch I'll rework that at some point anyway. I'd certainly never try to seat 4 there, so it's already wasting serious space.
Another waste of space, in my opinion, is the TV. I've tried to use it for youtube but finally decided all I was doing was trying to figure out what to do with it. I found a better solution. See the attached photo.

I like it, but my wife would kill me. I'm risking physical harm just not letting her know there are 12 volt TVs and things called inverters.

tinglett, Looking forward to the release of the 2106 tb. I plan to add a extension on the port side bed for me...wife is shorter and 74" bed works for her.

Other interesting things from the 2106TB photos... obviously the cabinets have changed. There is now a convection microwave. The oven has been removed and replaced with storage drawers. The fridge is different, it looks like a new Dometic DMC4081. I don't think it uses propane but is purely 12V. There is not a vent panel for the refrigerator on the outside wall. They also relocated the exterior shower connection to the curb-side rear. Hard to know which features will apply in full-scale production.

As in the other thread about the 2106TB, I just want to clarify that the swap to production of 2021.5 models should happen sometime between 8/1 and 9/1 based on what I've been told. These will include some (maybe not all?) of the changes visible in the 2106TB demo unit. All I know for sure regarding the 2106TB is that they built a demo of it. My hope is that a 2106TB will be added as part of the 2021.5 set of floorplans.
If you like the demo unit, I guess I'd be tempted to wait until August and then contact your dealer to inquire about ordering a 2021.5. I'd like to think they'll know about availability/options/pricing a bit in advance of the production changes... but they might not as the RV industry is an odd one for sure.

True you never know what manufacturers think. I am not in a rush, just want to get as close to perfect as I can. For me I believe the 2106 TB is it. Will be keeping eye out online dealers from Atlanta to around my home in East TN. Thanks for all the info.

Hello,
I just saw your post and I have a new 2021, 2108tb that came with a sleeper sofe. I am looking for a dinette to replace the sofa. If you are willing to sell or trade, please let me know.

We tried on a 2108ds sofa model for size before settling on a dinette. In our opinion, the sofa model is uncomfortable because it’s up in the raised slide, and nowhere to rest your feet. It probably would be great if it was a theater sofa. Plus we thought moving a table around all the time would be a hassle. The dinette is plenty big enough for two to work/eat/ etc. The sofa under the Murphy bed is very comfortable for tv watching and reading if you get a couple of collapsible ottomans. And the drawers under the Murphy bed are copious, but hard to use when the bed is down. Dinette also affords tons of storage. Removing one of the dinette storage doors gives kitty easy access to a liter box under the dinette seat.

Oldemtp,
If you purchase a 2108TB with the dinette and decide to replace it with a recliner, I would be interested in buying the dinette.
Thanks,
