2106TB trailer

I heard that Winnebago is coming out with a 2106TB. Is there any truth to this? If they are when would the first units be available?

I was about to purchase a 2108TB but if a 2106TB is coming out I think I will wait for it. My main is concern is that the 2108 is a bit heavy for my GMC Canyon 2.8 diesel. I only want to tow a trailer that uses 80% or less of my truck's towing capacity. The 2108 would use 82%.

I don't know about the 2106TB, or what that would be. In honor of Covid-19 is Winnebago starting to name trailers after communicable diseases?

As to the Canyon, I agree with your restraint, but the numbers you need to focus on with the Canyon Duramax is the available payload and axle limits. My 2106DS pretty well maxes those out on my Colorado Duramax, with only about 200-300 left on each axle and for payload.

With relatively little water on board my front and rear truck axles were at 2920 and 2940 repectively, the the GCVW was 9820. The tow weight limit is illusory since my dry trailer weight is just under 4,000 pounds. There's no way I could possibly tow a 7,700 pound travel trailer and have enough tongue weight to avoid sway while being within the axle limits. It would be hard to even meet the tongue weight limit of 770 given that includes the weight distributing hitch.

That said, people do tow the 2108s, but they are likely even closer to the limits than I am.

TB stands for twin bed. My gross axle rates are 3400 for the front and 3500 for the rear. I think the 2108TB would really push these. I'm a person who does not like to push a truck's maximums. Maximums takes the fun out of a camping trip for me. Thanks for your input; I always look for your responses on this site. Have a good one.

They built a demo unit anyway, so there is hope. I believe the new models should start production within the next 60 days.

I guess I should clarify that the 2021.5 models will start production sometime between 8/1 and 9/1 from what I've heard from the factory. These will include some of the changes that are visible in the demo unit (new cabinetry etc.). I hope they'll introduce a 2106TB at that time, but all I know for sure is that they built a demo unit.

Thanks for the information. Twin beds in a 2106 would fit perfectly for me and my wife.

The model specifications have now changed on the Winnebago website. It looks like a couch is now optional on all the models that previously offered only a dinette in the slide. There are other significant changes as well.

Here is the link to Micro Minnie page. The only thing that has changed thus far are the specifications in the table at the bottom. The interior options now include the couch instead of dinette on several models. The other thing of note, if you ask me anyway, is they cut the GAWR/GVWR. Cargo capacity is reduced from prior years by a considerable amount.

If you want photos, there are now listings for the 1700BH, 1708FB, 2108TB, 2108DS, and 2306BHS available on RV Trader. You just have to look through the recent listings. I believe the old 2106 series stuff has been discontinued since the couch is now optional on 2108 series trailers. The specifications for 2106 are unchanged for now but I assume they will eventually go away.
