View 24D USB-C Relocation

I want to relocate the USB-C connection from the storage bin/charging pad on top of dash in our 2021 View 24D to the lower part of the center support of the dash next to an existing USB port and power point. We like to use the mapping app in our iPhones as they often do a better job maintaining a live connection than the MB GPS mapping system.

Leaving the iPhone in the bin on the charging pad exposes it to excessive heat. The lid does not like to close with the lightning cable in the way, etc. It's just an awkward and hazardous setup for iPhones.

I saw online somewhere about a year ago a step-by-step process with pictures for doing this. I have been searching for this how-to-do-it for several days and cannot find it If anybody knows where that process is posted, I'll appreciate it if you can point me to it.

Thanks.

We run two long USB-C braided cables out the corners for the storage compartment and are able to connect our phones to the cables and place them in the slots on the front side of the dash - and both sides.

The cables seem to do OK when fed through the corners of the compartment covers.

Plus, there is a USB-C port at the bottom of the dash that you can use, if you aren't trying to use Android Auto or Apple CarPlay - and only connect the phones to the dash using BlueTooth.

I added several USB charge points to my RV. They can be easily installed anywhere that there is 12 volts available. There are several different brands available from Amazon.

Thanks for the responses. We use the long cables now and want to get away with fussing with them. And we use the USB-C for the iPhone CarPlay, which the existing USB-C in the lower dash location isn't wired to provide. Again, appreciate the thoughts. We'll keep looking.
