Tow 2007 Jeep Liberty?

I am considering a 2007 Jeep Liberty for a TOAD. Towing Guide says 3500lbs.
I now tow a Fiat 500 and at 2300# it is hardly noticed and still get 15mpg. Mountains don't seem to bother it. So would find the Liberty a little easier to And with Automatic Transmission my wife will be happy.
If I get the Jeep I will sell the 2112 Fiat when I buy the Jeep.
Does anyone tow a JEEP Liberty and can share info.

Not sure what you are towing the Jeep with but we have a 06 39 Journey with the 350 Cat and we love towing the Liberty. She is an easy tow. With and without you do notice a slight difference on hills but not much.

I don't tow a Jeep Liberty, but what I can share is that when I Googled up the curb weight for that vehicle, it says 3,821 to 4,033 lbs. The arithmetic doesn't come out very well with a 3500 lb towing rating on your rig, unfortunately.

Safe travels.................. ed s

I forgot to add that my RV is a 2017 Winnebago View 24' with a Mercedes V6 188 HP and tow rating is 5000#. The 2007 tow guide lists the Jeep Liberty at curb 3500#. I can't compare with a class A with 350 cat diesel.

Your hitch is rated for 5000 lbs, but your tow rating is more like 4200 lbs. Subtract your GVW from your GCWR and you will get your actual tow rating. If you run heavy, your tow rating goes down.

I must have entered wrong tow limit. My rig has a 5000# limit You are correct on the Vehicle published curb weight. Thanks for input.

Despite what you think, your tow rating is lower than your hitch rating. See my post above and take a look at the sticker on the back of your coach that says essentially the same thing.

The Liberty is at the top of your towable weight range but you should be fine as far as weight goes.

First trip towing a Jeep Liberty with several steep hills and my 2017 View 24j did Very well on flat ground and but I can tell it was there. Hills slowed me down and used lower gears to maintain about 40mph. Down hills used lower gears and minimum braking.
I towed a Fiat 500 before and did not notice any difference in weight or MPG. I don't track MPG often as I have a Diesel Gen so it would not be accurate. Still a tossup as to which toad I will keep. The Jeep is great and automatic Trans is nice.
Fiat is just hook up and go
Jeep needs a transfer case with a neutral position..Needs key on to unlock wheel and a battery charge unit so battery gets charged from RV...So no dead battery at destination and fuses to pull.
One thing I did by accident was have a duplicate key made from the chipped key that comes with a fob looking jeep key.
I tried it in the door and it set off an alarm...I started the motor and it died in seconds but it did unlock the wheel..So now I used it when towing and don't worry about leaving it in.

I use a Rvi3 with a tablet which shows on a video screen how much breaking is actually being applied.
i More thing my tire minder alarm went off before I left Campground and it showed a low tire on inside dual. Check with manual pressure gauge and it agreed.
I am glad that I made that purchase
