To wax or not to wax. That is the question.

The options sheet that came with my ‘19 Navion says only that it has full body paint. No mention of cleaning or waxing precautions in the owner’s manual or supplement. Any reason I can’t/shouldn’t wax it? If not, any recommendations for wax? Seems a liquid wipe on/wipe off would be easier to apply than a paste. Suggestions/advice?

You are going to get alot of answers to this.
So here is mine
I was once a year with NuFinish, plus after each trip I wash with Turtle wash and wax.
My thought is it's easier to stay ahead than try and catch up.

Good Luck safe travels

Waxing is fine. There are hundreds of options. Do you have a favorite?

I use Wash Wax All - which is an easy and popular option. But other folks use every manner of waxing products.

Look on YouTube you'll find many dozens.

Wax reduces paint oxidation and a paste wax is going to provide more protection than a liquid wax. The liquid "wax" is designed for ease of application and not its overall performance in protecting the paint.

Wax, except for any vinyl decals. I also use NuFinish once a year. Use 303 protectant on decals. My 2 cents.

I asked Winnebago a similar question 18 months ago. They sent me a care procedure from the Roof / Fiberglass Mfg. It recommended Meguiars Pure RV / Marine Wax #56

There are lots of safe options, but there are some bad ones too. Don't try some crazy magic solution that you just spray and done and don't buy some hard paste wax that if you do one time you will never want to do it again

I use RV Wash & Wax every time I wash the RV, and I use the Meguiars Pure RV / Marine Wax #56 twice a year. In between, or if I see a tough spot I use Meguiars #83 Cleaning & Polish.

Related

I am in the middle of experiment where I used Turtle Wax Hybrid Solution Ceramic Spray on my roof. I have no idea if it is any good, but the You Tube videos speak highly of it. I don't plan to use on the body of RV even if it works, but I like the fact that it is easy to apply on the roof. My test is to see if it can protect decaying leaves on my roof this Fall. I know the Meguiars Pure RV / Marine Wax #56 can, but it takes twice as long to apply.

Good luck.

x2

I do the same, but use Meguiars Pure RV / Marine Wax #56. Very important to keep the wax off the decals. I use the 303 on decals at least every other month.

Hmmm, my sales brochure says my Navion has full body paint. How can I tell the difference between that and decals?
