Sprinter wheel sensor warranty now 10 years

Received in the mail today from Mercedes, wheels sensor warranty for 2012 through 2018 Sprinter extended to 10 years, no mileage restrictions, to any owner (not just original buyer).

Wonder if that's a worldwide policy update? (Canada, too?)

Heading off a Class Action law suit perhaps?

Which is what I'd expect a 'responsible' corporation to do, btw.

The letter came from MBUSA ... so I’m not sure. I’ll post the actual letter.

That is good news, much thanks for posting that. Sprinter owners may want to download a copy of that .

This is good that they are doing this. Ours failed two years into ownership and we went to Limp Home Mode in the middle of Atlanta GA rush hour traffic. Fixed under warrenty but a real pain. Hope failure is over, warrenty or not. Terry

Looks like they are now doing a NHTSA Safety Recall #21V042. Got my Recall Interim Notice in the mail today. For 2012 - 2018 they will replace the rear wheel sensors with new sensors with "improved robustness to moisture intrusion" The notice goes on to say "Unfortunately the parts to remedy this issue are currently not yet available" Wonder how long it will take ?

I just received a recall notice for the Mercedes Sprinter rear wheel speed sensor. That is probably why they extended the warranty

Has anyone actually had this recall completed? I have been trying for months, and the dealers say it still is not an active recall, aka no parts available. Obviously, Mercedes does not consider this recall a priority.

The Mercedes dealers in the Phoenix area won't even answer the phone when I call about the speed sensor recall. Just put me on permanent hold when I mention the recall. Very frustrating...
