Solera vs. Winnebago view

Hi I'm new to this and am wanting to upgrade from our 1991 Toyota Odyssey to something on a Mercedes chassis. It seems that the Solera is much cheaper than a View, I was wondering what peoples opinions on the two were or if there are others that I should be looking at. Also, used vs. new.

thanks so much

We looked at them as well and decided for the Solera due to price and water capacities and other small details - like no dinette in the View - which was the ither deal killer. The difference in price was significant and we did not regret - only that we after some years grew tired of the corner bed and upgraded,to a Brave.
The quality of the Solera was very good - somehow better than the Brave 😪

Welcome:
Do your research. I believe the View has a fresh water capacity of 27 gallons while the Solera model I looked at had 41 gallons of capacity. That is a big difference if you are on the road or dry camping. Talk to many owners and don't hesitate to spend a few more $$ for the exact floor plan you want. I believe Forest River makes a nice RV.
Have fun at it, you are on the right course with the MB Sprinter that gets great mileage as compared to the Ford 8 mpg or my diesel pusher 8 mpg. Depending on fuel costs, at $4 per gallon with 8 mpg, driving 64 miles in an hours (or so) operating costs are $32 and hour. Its gets more fun at $5 per gallon about $40 an hour. My next RV will be the MB.

Welcome to the forum. The fit and finish on the Winnebago are better than the Solera, but, and a very big but, the Solera is much lower in price, especially if you buy from RV Direct. Get a quote from them and you will be surprised how much they will discount new units. Here is a link: http://www.rvdirect.com/Forest-River/. Whichever way you go, the Sprinter chassis is great and we love to drive and camp in our Via.

Buffalo Bill,

The fit and finish on our Solera was better than on our new Brave. We had ZERO issues with the Solera and a long list on our Brave 27B.
We bought locally and paid less than RV Direct without the travel hassle. Plus the dealer was far more helpfull post sales. Online is not always cheaper and better....
