Anyone removed the electric stabilizer on a Minni Winnie 22R. I believe I need to remove mine since one side drags when going up hill. Will replace with manual jacks from Harbor Freight if needed.
Well that was easy, only 4 bolts (2 on each end) and it comes down. What I learned from this was 1) remove cable ties before you begin 2) loosen bolts but don't remove sll the way until you have something under the stabilizer, its heavy. 3) disconnect power cables. 4) slowly complete removal of nuts from bolts and lower unit. I used a large ice chest to rest the stabilizer on after removing nuts. Now I should be able to get up and down the drive without tearing up the stabilizer. If I find that I need stabiliztion in the future I'll just get a couple of scissor jacks from Harbor Freight.
Hi Chauptma,
I never ordered the Stabilizers on my 22M for the same reason; they become the low-point on the departure angle. Glad you could remove yours without problem.

Yes, thought I could make it up the drive with the help of skid wheels. One of the foot pads dragged just a little. However, after a full tank of gas, water and all the extra gear, I guess it was enough added weight that the foot got caught and bent the arm a little. Could probably still use it but on the 22R without slideouts I dont really think I'll miss them that much.
Yes, the rocking is very mild even without them. As both the 22R and the 22M can be ordered with the E-450 frame, I looked at it as a trade-in to apply the cost of those stabilizer jacks toward the upgraded tonnage. I have never regretted that decision. Of course, the new E-350s carry an extra 1,000 pounds of cargo, so the difference between the two tonnages is now only 2,000 pounds of capacity.
