Remis side window shades

To you that have the remis side window shades on your sprinter, does it block your view of the side mirror.

We do have the remis side window shades and they block vision to the side mirrors - as such, I never use them when driving. IMHO it's just to dangerous. However, the large windows do result in a lot of sun coming in so we installed 3M ceramic window tinting on the side windows of the cab. There are 3 "shades" and we went with the darkest and they work great for blocking the UV light and keeping the temperature gain manageable.

What RoadCrafter said.

3M or equivalent ceramic film. Clear on windshield. Very light tint on doors. In fact....do the whole RV with clear.

Black / dark tint raises the heat level. It absobs more energy and glass is an excellent thermal conductor.

What I’m asking is does the framework of the Remis door shade block your view of the side mirror. I wouldn’t think of driving with them out. Thanks

NO. The framework does not block the View's side mirrors. The 'front' smaller door shades do block the mirrors when closed. The DW has on occasion used the larger shade to block the sun while motoring down the road, but I would never let her close the smaller shade blocking my passenger mirror!

Oh....? The frame? No. Not been an issue for me or Mrs. Crow.

I got in the unit today to continue getting all the spring cobwebs out and ready for our first adventure and saw the frame and thought … "I wonder if that's what he meant?"

Sorry about the confusion I created. No my frame does not block the mirror either. Following up on the wise Crows comments on tint of film, he's absolutely right. The protection offered by the darker shades is greater, so given my better half has a sun allergy, I went with the dark on her window and the medium on mine. I did do all the windows in the unit with the medium tint and it really has helped.
