We have an 2004 Journey and our rear view camera just went nuts. The screen looks like a box of crayons melted on the screen picture. Does this mean our camera has croaked? When you switch to the GPS screen the screen is fine.

I had the same problem. Took camera out and plugged it directly in to monitor. Still did not work. ordered new camera from Lichtsinn Motors. They stock new ones.excellent service. New one works great.
Savannah read the post "Two new to me problems" If you do a search, you can find the name of the outfit in FL that will send you a new unit for $225. I don't have the info with me as we are on the road. Hope your clear coat on cap and shoulders hasn't started to peel.

Ours did basically the same thing and I emailed the guy at RVcams who said to check the camera by plugging it directly into the monitor to eliminate the cable from the back to the front. He also said his experience was that it would be the camera. I think his website is www.rvcams.com, he is in LA We ende up getting ours replaced at the factory as we had other things to get done there and the extended warranty covered it.
I, too have a Sony. It is a B&W model. If I pull the camea and replace with a color version, will the wiring handle it? I think the monitor is both. Just wondering.
