Rattle above driver/passenger in 2020/2021 View/Navion

We've had a periodic rattle above the driver since shortly after getting our 21VD last summer. It sounded like something was loose - with the rattle usually happening when on uneven or unlevel roads.

Our Winnebago service encountered a similar rattle in a new View and determined it was being caused in the seam between the metal roof of the chassis and Winnebago's overcab.

The solution was to put some small shims to stop the two pieces from rattling while driving - took a couple of hours for them to disassemble the chassis are above the driver/passenger seats, insert the shims, and then close it back up.

Since then - it's been great to drive without the frequent rattling we've had for months...

It doesn't appear there is any structural issue with this type of rattle - it's just annoying, but if you have it, you should contact service and get this fixed (especially if you are still under warranty).

Thank you for this information and the fix. I've had the same problem over my passenger side and it drives me nuts. I knew it was up in that area but could never pinpoint the exact problem. I'm hoping more forum members share problems/solutions that are out there.
