Passenger seat swivel base

Just curious. Was looking into adding a swivel base to passenger side front seat. I have a Minnie Winnie 22M. Appears to be enough room to swivel 180. I understand the seat has to be fwd when driving and all that. Just looking for an extra seat when inside, chilling. Has anyone done this, any issues other than the wiring underneath. If so any good quality after market swivels you can recommend

Thanks Lance

Hi Lance,
We had quite a thread on this subject, starting in April of this year:
http://www.winnieowners.com/forums/f...at-354227.html
The two things you may wish to consider are this:
  1. You will be sitting very close to the ground.
  2. Your legs will be occupying the very limited floor space of the 22M.
On Post #5 of this thread:
http://www.winnieowners.com/forums/f...2m-354160.html
I show the converse of what you are thinking of doing, and that is to slide the passenger seat all the way forward to recover a little more floor space. Hey; the dog's water has to go somewhere, right?
Please let us know what you decide to do.
Thanks, Eagle5

Yes. I guess I have to do a better job searching older threads. Thanks again

Why did you mention no. 1. above? Is the cab floor on the 22M lower than the coach floor?

(The cab floor is lower in our small Class C, but I'm finding that is very rare in the new Class C motorhomes that we see at the RV shows. Most of their cab floors are the same height as the coach floors, so with a swiveling passenger seat there is no seat height issue.)

On the Winnebago 22M, the cab floor is about 4" lower.

We have a 2013 Cambria and installed the swivel to both front seats. It really does make a nice difference in the living space. They are rather low when turned but very usable. Make sure that they install the wires up through the center of the swivel rather than on the outside. Otherwise when the seat turns it can tear the wires out. Ours were installed wrong the first time. When installed up the center hole there is no tension on the wires. Works very well. Would do again!
