Need House Battery Help

Hello,

My house batteries in my 2015 Minnie Winnie 25b recently died. I currently have Group 24 size batteries and would like to upgrade to perhaps a 6V battery system. It has been very hard for me to determine what my options are.

1. My batteries are under the steps and it's a tight space.

2. I am not very experienced in electrical systems but I can follow a picture.

Has anyone replaced their house batteries with a 6V that actually fits under the step?

Can you tell me what the manufacturer, model number and place you bought them from?

I am really looking for a plug and play upgrade but open to following suggestions if you have pictures!

Thanks for the help!

6V batteries, GC or GC2 size ratings, are all the same size: 7.15"W x 10.3"L x 11"H. That usually won't fit underneath a step- too high.

From your pics it looks like it will be tough to fit anything more than two G24s, maybe two G27s will work, but I doubt two G31s will work- too long.

What is the opening and the inside dimensions of that compartment. You need 26" inside and at least a 21" opening to fit two G31s end to end.

Morning,

That battery opening is 18in wide and 11.5in deep. The height is about 11in from bottom of tray to top of lip.

I think there is actually more room width wise because the open is narrower than the actual side inside the box, but I'm not entirely sure what it is yet.

Some 6V GC batteries might fit your 11" height, depending on the terminal style. Check with Batteries Plus, Costco and Sams Club and look at specific batteries.

Thanks David! I bought 2 GC2 golf cart batteries from Costco and they fit!

In case anyone has a 2015 Minnie Winnie 25B and wants to know if they fit, they do!

Excellent!

Have you got them hooked up? All OK?

Batteries are a big topic with many opinions. I can only speak from my experiences.

What I have learned is Ah's are all that count for lead acid batteries. Two 6V, 100Ah in series gives the same useful power as one 12V, 100Ah battery. Deep cycle AGM batteries are the most stable for lead acid batteries and don't need water maintenance. They are sealed.
Check out https://www.bargainshore.com/VMAX-MB...ry_p_3535.html. Good prices and helpful folks.
Group size is your biggest enemy in tight spaces. I don't see a G24 with a higher Ah rating of 85. So, 2 of these will give you 170Ah. But, you really have only about -rough figure- 85Ah for the health of the batteries. You need to find a vented area in the coach that will allow more battery.
The big rage is LiPo4. These need special attention to get the best use of them. Temperature and charging are critical, and they are $$$$.
Hope my thoughts are helpful to you.
