Looking for New MH on Chevy Chassis

Am seriously considering trading in the Minnie Winne on a new MH, would like to find a Class C of similar specs, ie 30ft length etc on a Chevy chassis. Does anyone know of any,

Good luck. Chevy pretty much got out of the motorhome chassis business. Don't quote me but it was 2015 or so that the last few were on the market.

I have seen some Super C's on Chevy diesel chassis - but I don't know if these are current right now or not.

There are - and have been for a few years - rumors that Chevy is about to get back into the business. But those have been floating around for awhile now.

I think that your only options are Ford E350/E450/Transit and Mercedes Sprinter/Ram chassis for a NEW Class C motorhome.

Workhorse Chev 8.1 + Alison trans was an Awesome combination
You will have to buy an experience RV to get one .
The money saved buying used will pay for a lot repairs if needed .

I can think of Three Class C Manufacturers off the top of my head, because I too would MUCH PREFER the roomier Chevy Chassis over the cramped Ford.

Jayco offers the Redhawk SE 27N on a Chevy Chassis. Its 30 feet long with NO slides (another plus in my opinion)

Coachman Leprechaun 270QB is similar. 30 footer with NO slides.
You can also opt for the less expensive/lower quality built Freelander model from Coachman. Floorplans are identical.

Finally Forest River Sunseeker offers their 2860DS (31 feet long with 2 slides) and 2500TS (27 1/2 feet with 3 slides), both available on a Chevy Chassis.

Most Sunseeekers are built with fiberglass roof, but you can verify this for yourself on their website.

Also, Minnie Winnie in 2014 was available with Chevy Chassis, though they are few and far between to locate. At any one given time you'll only see 2 or 3 used ones available for sale on rv trader. com

I've considered both the Leprechaun and the Redhawk, but don't need/want that extra length, and both have the inferior TPO roof, whereas Minnie Winnie offers the fiberglass roof which I really like.

My best guess as to why the Ford Chassis on Class C outnumber the Chevy Chassis about 20 to 1, is the larger E450 Ford provides the 7500 lb towing capacity. Whereas, the smaller Ford E350 and the Chevy are limited to 5000 lb.

And let's face it, between the multiple slides, 5 TVs, outdoor kitchens, washer & dryer that many of today's RVers 'need' to enjoy their RV experience, the bulkier Ford E450 Chassis is better suited to handle all that load.

I have no desire, nor need to tow anything, so that sturdier frame, suspension and load carrying capacity is just dead weight to me. I'd trade it off in a heartbeat to gain that precious extra 6 inches in the cab that the Chevy Chassis offers, for a better and more relaxed driving experience.

I'm barely 5-11 with modest 32 in inseam, and even with the seat all the way back (all 2 inches of it!) I'm cramped in the driver's seat of the Fords. Not to mention navigating to the coach around the doghouse.

I don't know how anyone of substantial height is able to drive one those.

Here's a 4th Class C Manufacturer that offers select models on a Chevy Chassis.

Gulfstream
Models 6237 (24' long), 6256(25' long) & 6280 (30' long)

I'm sure there are other Manufacturers as well.

It comes down to how much Cargo Carrying Capacity and/or Towing Capacity one needs.
The Chevy is on the lighter side of both metrics, while the Ford can simply handle the
heavier loads better.

The trade-off is Chevy Cab area is roomier and more comfortable driving experience.
