limp home mode on 8k 2019 navion

I have a 2019 Navion with 8 K miles, that went into limp home mode, with 4 lights skids, abs, brake and yellow exclamation point.

Issue occured in Nc and went to mercedes dealer and they couldnt find anything. Cleared codes.

Left and drove home, 4 hours later symptoms re appear with loss of power.
it's not wheel motion sensors, and not eps. But Mercedes says is a winnebgao issue, not a mercedes one & that winnebago likely improperly tapped into cam bus.

Anyone experience anything like this?

You may want to also search here, and maybe post here;

But please come back here if you can and let us know what the fix was.

Maybe. Maybe not. It is under warranty. Take it back to a MB service center that has certified Sprinter technicians. Your Sprinters history should be in the MB database for record. The new dealer can look it up. Do not delete any codes before you go!!!!!!!

Just a USWAG but with those warning lights it might be a defective ABS sensor or problem with the ABS system.

Most commonly the issue is a defective wheel motion sensor, and thats not it, also not the EPS brake module. Appears to be a DTC issue where Winnebago installed system is disrupting communication. The plan is to now disable mobileeye and controls for radio on steering wheel.

Don't disable either one. The Mobileye is connected to power only and the radio volume control was corrected mid-year 2016. Very low probability that either one of them has anything to do with what is going on.

Call Mercedes. They will tow, for free, to the nearest authorized Sprinter dealer. You are under warranty, let Mercedes fix it.

it's not the mobileye that was disabled on the left and drove for 2 hours, no issues, left engine running and limp mode home appeared with 5 lights. Allowed engine to sit and cool for 30 minutes, remained in limp home mode. Then allowed to sit for an hour, lights and power was normal and got home.

Next day idled engine for 5 hours, no thing.

Took it to a Winnebago dealer and there is a sprinter dealer they work with. Still no idea what the cause is, other than there seems to be a issue with 3rd party (Winnebago) interruptions to the can bus. Can bus is the sprinter communication area network.

Idling your engine for 5 minutes is about all it should get, 5 hours and you are looking at permanent DPF damage. These types of actions often trigger limp mode problems.

Mercedes dealers seem to always want to blame the "upfitters" (and that includes Winnebago) for messing with their chassis. Since Winnebago buys over 50% of the chassis used, has been building on the chassis for over 10 years, Mercedes dealers still have a bad attitude. Mercedes has sophisticated computer monitoring built into the Sprinter chassis and should be able to pinpoint the faults leading up to the limp mode within a few minutes. Ignore the bickering and tell them to fix the problem - and call the main Sprinter number and ask to speak to someone higher up the line if you keep getting the runaround from the Mercedes dealer.

Called Winnebago Industries and they referred me to a top notch Winnebago dealer in Smyrna De. After it was there for 2 weeks and feeling the run around, was told they couldnt read any MD sprinter codes, and so today it is now at MB sprinter shop. Why couldnt they have told me that in the first place?

Sigh...! Don, please understand..... there are two major systems here.....your coach AND the MB Sprinter. You can have trouble with either one. What you described sure appears like a problem with the Sprinters ABS or other system. IME, it is very improbable that your problem is due to the coach builder muck up.

Coach builders and dealers are about 99.9% clueless on Sprinter repairs and are about 225% unable to diagnose and repair a problem.

You have a new, low miles, Sprinter that is most likely covered under factory warranty. Sprinters are not Ford, Rams, Dodge or Chebbys.......... MBs are hugely complex, computer contriolled & managed electro-mechanical devices and are way beyond the skill set and resources of almost all repair shops. Again...you need to take it to a MB dealer who has trained techs and equipment and factory back up to diagnose and repair the problem. Most likely it will be covered under your warranty.

This is now the 4th MB sprinter service center, I've been to. All 3 previous ones claimed a 3rd party CAM bus interruption. And I got as far as an executive account manager with MB who also had said take it to Winnebago. But, it sounded like they've ordered parts: esp controller. Im hoping that is the issue.
