hwh Jacks on Navion

I am purchasing a 2017 24V with HWH Jacks installed already.

Does having the jacks installed cause issue with accessing the spare tire?

With precautions, would having the jacks do away with the need for using the supplied little bottle jack if/when changing a tire or doing other work underneath?

Thanks

The jacks will not impact access to the spare tire.

Our HWH installation used the compartment where the Mercedes jack is stored. We asked about removing the jack from the vehicle and using the HWH jacks to lift the vehicle if a tire needed to be changed.

And HWH said DONT DO THAT - they do not recommend relying on the HWH jacks when replacing tires. So we now store the Mercedes jack in the outside storage compartment under our 21VD's slideout.

They do not want you doing it for the class-A motorhomes either. So I used the jacks to lift enough to extend the suspension, then set the frame down on jack stands. Gave me a lot more room to work with the bottle jack under the axle. Felt a little safer knowing the entire rig was not sitting on a single bottle jack.

As I read the question, HWH jacks place a bar across the spare tire that need to be removed to get access to the spare.
I have towing insurance and would call them to fix the tire.

Just got back from taking a look at the unit I will be purchasing next week. Here is a picture of the rear jacks and the spare tire. I didn't get a chance to look at any HWH literature to see if it details how to remove spare. Anyone have experience with this? Thanks

The HWH documentation we have doesn't explain how to access the spare.

As I recall when they briefed us on the new jacks at the HWH factory, the bar by the spare tire can be removed.

Though, if we ever have a flat, we'll get someone to do that, and not have to deal with changing the tires ourselves...

I did a look at the parts catalog but not certain which build you have as there are two for that year, so do some checking to verify but it appears there is a release on two vertical metal supports which will let the rack swing down. I've marked what I " think" is the release in yellow and the swivel in blue on these snips.
Maybe remove two lug nuts to swing the rack down to remove the tire?
Full info and parts are here:

First pic is looking down from slightly above and behind, kind of "Superman" style and then a snip from your picture?
Click this picture to get a better look?

Thanks for the replies.

Still unsure about whether I need to unbolt the hwh bar that comes across or not.

Even if I called someone to do it,,,,I sure would like to be able to tell them exactly what was needed to do before they started messing around with the jack system.

Seems like I should know how to do this!
