How to turn on rear view camera manually

I have this unit and can't figure out how to ck on my toad while moving. It only turns on in reverse. ( I guess picture won't attach, it's the Pioneer Av system on the new 2016's.)

Rewire the 12V power from the reverse circuit to the ignition circuit. That will likely void the camera system warranty though, ask your dealer.

Some can be programmed to do both, come on in reverse only or watched while underway. Might even be a DIP switch or jumper to set. On the '02 DSDP I could push a button the front to change it from one to the other.

KTM251ss, don't know for sure which radio you have but on the standard AVH-170DVD. Press the button on the left in the middle it has four little squares on it. Then select REAR VIEW ON. I assume rear camera activation in on since it will work in reverse.
This came for digging in the online manual.

I spent about a half hour trying to figure mine out this weekend. The "Rear View On" might work. But if it does't, look under "settings" for something like "camera polarity" There are about four options under it. Once you get the right one, the rear camera should basically become the "screen saver" and return after a few seconds from any other action taken.

Good luck figuring it out. It must be "Japanese" logic because it isn't intuitive to me!

+2 on what grtharris and Gromleys said, you'll need to go into the settings.

We like to listen to the TV through the radio speakers, they're much better, you'll need to turn on the audio/visual button to get that to work.

I was having trouble for a while with the radio not coming on at all when the batteries were turned on. Pioneer told me to "reset" the radio and all worked well, except all the presets were gone so all settings you put in the radio had to be done over. The little reset button on the top left is hard to see, will need a light. Seemed the internal memory in the radio wasn't holding the settings, could be the coach batteries had been turned off for too long over the winter. The radio is working fine now that the batteries are turned on every couple of weeks.

Thanks, i did this and i think I got it. So now I think the rear camera will be on all the time except if I tap a menu for something else. Thanks people!
