I searched high and low and cannot find a Kia Del Sol listed anywhere on line. If this is another name for a Kia Soul, I can tell you that my 2016 6-speed manual trans model has been completely trouble free for about 20K miles of towing over 4 years (stayed home during the COVID thing.) I bought it new and the dealer verified that it is, in fact, towable 4-down. I did run a 12v charge line from the MH electrical connector to the Kia to keep the battery up ......... it uses Kia power for the RVI brake system I use. Installed my own base plate and wiring (kit) I got from etrailer.com (a bit of a chore, but at least I know the bolts are torqued to the spec values.)
Like most everyone else, I would agree that once underway, you never know it is back there. I leave the backup camera on as a monitor as I travel.....just my preference.
I have never taken a trip without it, but I have read on other forums that a small toad will result in about a 1 MPG "hit" on fuel consumption with most gasser coaches.
Hope this helps. Safe travels to ya.
