EZ pass on Class C

On our Minnie Winnie 22M, will the EZ Pass transponder work if it’s attached to the windshield with the overhead area over top of the cab? I was thinking if it won’t I can “attach” it to the inside of the vent cover that’s on the over the cab bunk. We will only use that area for storage since there’s just the 2 of us.

Yes it will work. I've been using one since 2006 until 2019

Thanks Jeepster. Did you attach it to the windshield in a particular spot?

Yep works perfectly, mount just like a car where the rear view mirror would be

I wouldn't sweat it either way. Pretty sure their license plate readers backup a failed tag scan. No penalty as long as your plates are registered on the EZ Pass site.

My dealer here in Delaware is a retired State Trooper. He said I can get a transponder that attaches to the license plate. I’ve never seen one of those, but I’d rather have it on the windshield. I’ll make sure my tag is registered on the EZ Pass site.

When traveling with ezpass. I attached it to my class a inside windshield and registered the plates. Had a couple of times it didn’t read and license plates worked for proper automatic charging.

I attached it midway up on the passengers side. When the Velcro wore out I would just lay it on the dash.

Here in the Bay Area, we have FastTrak transponders for the bridges. They have two kinds, the Velcro ones for inside or the license plate ones with screws that you have to have a special tool to remove. I prefer the latter on the RV.

Also registered the license plates as a back up. If the transponder doesn’t work, before they send out a fine in the mail, they check the cameras and the license plate covers you.

I’ve registered my daughter’s and sister’s with only the license plate, and they’ve never had an issue with that alone. BUT, this is only FYI, because yours are for toll highways I imagine.

In Houston, the instructions for the EZ Tag placement for our View 24D was to place it in the middle of the windshield, near the bottom.

That sounded odd - but when I measured height from the ground, it was about the same distance as the tag would be in a car mounted by the rear view mirror.

Since Class C's sit much higher, it makes sense the tag should be placed low on the windshield.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I’ll try the tag low on the windshield. It’s better than getting one that mounts to the license plate. I’ll register the tag as well once I get the permanent one.
