Carefree Awning Bluetooth?

21’ View 24D with Carefree Freestyle Evolution awning with Carefree’s BT12 Wireless awning control system. Have the manual, and instructions. Switches are different than described and not compatible to turn on pairing function so it can be used with App. Anyone figure this out?

Tried calling Carefree and was on hold for an hour. Called WB and they referred me back to Carefree. Gave me a tech number that went to some sales pitch offer

it took me a few failed attempts, but once I was able to get the App to pair with the awning it's worked perfectly.

1. Open the App on your device
2. Push the awning extend button on the coach to initiate power (It doesn't need to go all the way out)
3. Hit the Scan for available awnings on the App

Once it pairs it will show your Carefree Awning and then you can control everything from the App. Lights on/off and brightness, retraction and extension and wind sensor sensitivity.

For some reason it took several attempts to get it to pair, and then boom it worked. Now once the power is turned on to the awning it connects automatically and works well. It's great being able to control all aspects of the awning from my phone white sitting out around the campfire.

I added the BT12 module and wind sensor to the Travel'R awning that came with my View 24V. Pairing the BT12 with your phone is confusing because it will not show up as a Bluetooth device in the phone settings. It is only available through the app.

Getting support from Carefree is anything but. My BT12 module is having issues extending the awning. When I did get to talk to a technician, I found out that there were several parts missing from my awning. Tensioners which help the awning to not get too wound up in the Alumigard cover and bumpers to keep the arms from collapsing to hard against the side of the RV. Tech promised me the parts and replacement BT12 plus the wind sensor the first part of July, but still no word on when I would get the parts.

Just had to be a bit more precise with the timing of the retract switch to initiate pairing. Defined release then press and hold and was able to pair
