Broken spring in door lock

We have a 2015 Itasca spirit 27q Coach door would not open even after using Wd 40 and checking alignment. Started to take lock apart and wondering if spring is broke. Imagine we just need to call and get a new lock or maybe a locksmith can fix? ( or maybe just worn out)

The door handle lock mechanism is an easy replacement. No need to try and repair. Those locks are common on most rv parts web site. You may even try Lichtsinn RV in Forest city they have access to all Itasca phttps://www.lichtsinn.com

Hopefully easy to replace Just have to open from the outside. Think we can do it!!

Ok, if your Door Latch looks like what I've attached below, you can Order an "Internal Steel Latch" to repair the Existing Door Latch accordingly, the older style locking latches were made of "Pot-Metal" not very strong, the Newer Door Latches made from Oct. 2019 and forward, should have the "Steel-Latch-Insert", again, see attachment's accordingly....
