AC Vent Louvre

Just purchased a 2017 View 24G. In trying to turn an AC vent to redirect the airflow, the louver assembly popped out and I can't figure out how to get it back in. I suspect that the trim plate can be removed with a flat-bladed screwdriver, but don't want to force it. The trim plate will not rotate.
How can I get the louver back in?

take a small flat blade screwdriver and pry very carefully on the louver outer ring. It clips on the mounting ring underneath.
